An Account Manager is responsible for servicing a defined set of monitoring and analysis clients successfully and profitably reflecting the commercial and operational needs of the business. The Account Manager is tasked with maintaining their client accounts to ensure the desired results are achieved, the most efficient resources are used, and all stakeholders involved are satisfied with the CARMA service.  They have responsibility for creating exceptional client deliverables by utilising the CARMA network of operational resources, SAEs and AEs. Account managers are expected to provide clear feedback to these teams and where necessary coach and develop colleagues & partners to deliver work to the standard that we require. Account Managers are responsible for producing high quality CARMA reports, finding the best ways to represent data to help clients make good decisions utilising support and guidance from Account Directors.  The Account Manager is responsible for ensuring client retention within their portfolio and identifying growth potential of existing client and sector revenue.

A successful Account Manager will challenge themselves, their teams and their clients – driving our offer forward through service design, innovation, high-quality reporting, consultancy and training.  You will work closely with your account director / client services director supporting them grow and develop their team’s pool of accounts.

You will also be expected to take a wide interest in the communications evaluation sector, networking at events, participating in online conversations, learning from industry leaders and sharing this knowledge with your colleagues.



Key Responsibilities

  • Servicing client accounts with day-to-day needs, ongoing tracking and ad hoc requirements
  • Building and maintaining excellent relationship with key client stakeholders
  • Final approval and send out of ongoing client reports & deliverables where authorized by your account director
  • Strategic analysis report development with Account Director support
  • Utilising resources through the effective organisation of the global CARMA operation teams
  • Line managing, coaching and developing Senior Account Executives and Account Executives
  • Supporting Account Directors in team resource planning
  • Escalating roadblocks to Account Directors in a proactive & timely manner with suggestions for solutions
  • Retention of clients, broader identification of opportunities for revenue growth of existing client base
  • Assisting in development of briefs for new and existing clients
  • Implementing client account briefs successfully
  • Taking full responsibility and ownership for smaller client accounts
  • Where account ownership is held, ensuring all contracts are signed, up-to-date and POs are in place
  • Creating meeting summaries (when no junior is present), signing off (when no senior present) and communicating to clients/team
  • Supervising and setting deadlines with operations team to ensure accurate and timely analysis
  • Creating proposals for ad hoc client work, and agreeing pricing with client / Account Director
  • Communicating client project and ad hoc costs for invoicing to Account Director and Finance
  • Communicating effectively vertically in both directions
  • Ensuring Analyst efficiency metrics are provided by operations. Areas for improvement acted upon & implemented
  • Where account ownership is held, ensuring account team utilises best practice processes for optimum efficiency


Key Attributes

  • At least two-year track-record in media analysis, media intelligence market research, social media or marketing analytics. PR experience is a benefit
  • At least two years’ experience supporting client accounts
  • Proven research and analytical skills. Could be gained as part of a University project / dissertation or examples of work experience
  • An academic degree (Bachelors, preferably a Masters) in Marketing, Communications, Media, Business Administration or Social Sciences is a benefit
  • Enthusiasm and interest in the rapidly changing media environment
  • Good knowledge of best practice in the communications evaluation sector, latest industry trends, topics and issues
  • Excellent written and spoken English with comprehensive understanding of grammar
  • In-depth, working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint & Excel.
  • Team player, management, delegation and motivation experience preferred
  • Analytical and process-orientated mindset with an ability to rapidly learn new tools and techniques
  • Commercial awareness coupled with effective closing capabilities
  • Experienced working across multiple account projects at any one time
