CARMA’s co-managing partner and CEO of Europe and Americas, Richard Bagnall, re-elected as AMEC’s chair

LONDON, U.K., DECEMBER 10 2019 – Richard Bagnall, co-managing partner and CEO of Europe and Americas of leading global media intelligence solutions provider, CARMA, was re-elected last week for a second term as the chair of AMEC, the international association for the measurement and evaluation of communication.

For over 25 years, Richard has focused his career on helping clients demonstrate and generate positive organisational outcomes through applied public relations research. He has served on the AMEC board several times since its inception and has been its chairman since 2016. He has played a significant role in shaping the association including some of its best known educational initiatives, earning him the recognition as an Honorary Lifetime Fellow of AMEC in 2015.

Richard  began his career at Saatchi and Saatchi’s global PR agency, The Rowland Company, before moving into the Planning, Research and Evaluation sectors in 1996. Since then he has led and run many  of the world’s most recognized comms analytics businesses.

Richard is a member of the UK Government Communications Service’s Cabinet Office Evaluation Council, as well as a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, PRCA PR & Communications Council and was inducted into PR News’ Measurement Hall of Fame in 2017.

On the election results, Bagnall said, “I am honored be asked to serve as AMEC’s chair for a second term. AMEC’s focus is on developing meaningful resources for the PR and communications community to help guide best practice in PR measurement and evaluation.  Recent examples of this work include the Barcelona Principles, AMEC Integrated Evaluation Framework, the Measurement Maturity Mapper. Global education on best practice in communications evaluation matters more now than ever and I look forward to working with my industry colleagues to continue this mission over the next two years.”

AMEC saw the highest level of nominations and number of member companies voting in this year’s election for the 2020 board of directors, which closed on Friday 29th November 2019. Results were announced last week at the AMEC AGM which took place on Thursday 5th December 2019 in London.
