Business Developer – Portugal

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the role include:

 

Product Knowledge

  • Fully understand the group’s products and services
  • Detail any training requirements clearly to senior management
  • Understand the Services you are offering and the benefits to potential clients
  • Understand the group structure and company role

Sales

  • Responsible for the sales process from beginning to end; including the completion of detailed responses to tender (public and/or private), managing the pitch process and negotiation of contracts.
  • Sourcing leads and identifying new potential clients in targeted sectors
  • Research target companies using online and other resources
  • Obtain client information for email campaigns and direct communication
  • Contact business leads to obtain meetings through email and telephone
  • Meet clients face to face to present the company’s products and services
  • Following up with client whether email, telephone, or face to face
  • Develop ideas on new product offerings and methods of sale
  • Identify new target markets and opportunities for the company
  • Create proposals and conduct contract negotiation
  • Manage tendering procedures and processes in Portugal for both private and public-sector organizations
  • Close the sale as effectively as possible

Reporting & Management

  • Achieve set KPI’s and revenue targets
  • Present accurate and timely weekly reports or progress reports when requested
  • Maintain records of leads, contacts, opportunities, proposals, and revenue

Travel Availability

Willing to travel in Portugal and abroad (when needed).

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Mass Communication, or any relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Business Development or Sales and Marketing
  • Experience in the Media Intelligence sector (Monitoring & Analysis) is a plus
  • Must have a strong understanding of the Portuguese media market plus technology, information services and knowledge of media monitoring and analysis.

  • Excellent use of Portuguese and Business English (both written and spoken)
  • Good use of Spanish is a plus

  • Commercial awareness is essential and ability to build relationships based on trust and understanding.
